Dowsing: The Fool-Proof way to Access Your Intuition By Andrea Hess

Are you looking for a better way to gain access to intuitive information? In dowsing, we use the aid of a pendulum to tap into our intuition. Depending on how you program it, your pendulum will give you answers by swinging in certain directions to tell you “yes,” “no,” or “undecided.”

Dowsing is very clear to read. Unlike the tarot, which depends heavily on the interpretation of the reader, dowsing is a method that really doesn’t offer much room for interpretation. Yes means yes and no means no. And learning to dowse takes no time at all! As such, dowsing is an ideal place to start developing a sense for intuitive information. A pendulum allows you to get crystal clear answers through an external source so that you can develop a trust in the validity of the information.

Unfortunately, the very advantage to dowsing – the fact that it is so clear to read – is also what makes it somewhat limiting. We have to ask questions that can be answered with “yes” or “no.” However, with some experience, we can access a wealth of information within this limited medium. The true advantage of dowsing is that it allows you to get a clear sense of your own intuitive knowledge. As you continue dowsing, you will over time start to receive the answers before the pendulum even swings. Before long, you will develop a keen sense of how your inner guidance system works.

All answers from your pendulum really come from your superconscious – from your Higher Self. Your Higher Self is your Soul self. It is the ancient, infinitely wise part of you that was directly created from Source. Your Higher Self is not limited to this present incarnation. It has access to all your lifetimes, past, present and future. It spans dimensions, time and space. Your Higher Self is pure Spirit. This is where the information really comes from.

When you dowse, your Higher Self will connect to your subconscious. This is what actually creates the movement of the pendulum. Consciously, you will not be aware of creating any movement in the pendulum whatsoever. It really is a wonderful thing to watch your pendulum swinging of its own accord! You would swear that you are holding your hand absolutely still, but in truth, your subconscious is creating the subtle movements that create the swing of the pendulum.

Everyone is intuitive. The more you practice, the more your intuition will be available to you. The pendulum is merely the external starting point. As you use it more and more, your focus will shift towards your internal receptors for intuitive information. However, as a good place to start, nothing beats learning how to dowse!

Dowsing - Using Divining Rods To Obtain Answers To Your Questions By Sherry Sims

Divining Rods, also known as Dowsing Rods, have been used since ancient times by water witchers, shamans, and wise-ones. Although the information obtained while using these tools seems to come from an obscure and esoteric source, in reality they simply measure energy patterns that occur naturally.

To better understand this concept, it becomes necessary to understand a few basic laws. Firstly, we live in a universe of energy. We human beings are, in reality, energy beings. We all have an energy body, or aura, that surrounds and penetrates through our physical bodies. It's as if energy or light radiates outward, from our center, and this energy field is larger than our physical selves. It is through this energy body that we send and receive energy vibrations.

Have you ever had the phone ring and before picking up the receiver you sense who is on the other line? Have you ever phoned someone that you haven't spoken to in a while, and that person says, "That's so strange. I've been thinking about getting in touch with you, and now you call."

It is because when we think about someone our aura naturally sends out a certain vibration, or frequency, that can be felt by others, especially when others are "sensitive" to energy. We all have these innate "sensitivities", and when we begin to refine them to a much greater degree, we find that our feelings or hunches can be quite accurate. It's often just a matter of tuning in, of eliminating the noise and distraction of everyday life that we begin to perceive these energy vibrations in much greater detail. That is the reason why meditation can be extremely helpful in learning to develop our natural psychic abilities.

One way to speed up this process is to work with Divining Rods. Just like with any other skill that we would like to improve on, practice makes perfect. If we want to be excellent tennis players, we must play a lot of tennis in order to perfect our game. If we want to enhance and develop our sixth sense, we need to exercise it. Divining Rods make excellent tools for doing just that. And, in the process, we can have a lot of fun, too.

To use Divining Rods, hold one in each hand by the handles only. Hold your arms up (open armpits), with hands approximately 9 inches apart from each other. Relax, and clear your mind. Too much intensity will cause the rods not to work. The ideal state for you to be in is one of being open, rather than trying to be in control.

Start by mentally asking the rods "Which way means YES?" Remember to remain relaxed and to breathe normally. The rods should start to move, probably moving so that they cross each other. Once they have finished moving, mentally say "Thank you", which will allow the rods to go back into their normal, neutral state. Now mentally ask "Which way means NO?" The rods will probably move into a position of being wide open. Once again, mentally say "Thank you" to allow the rods to go into the neutral state again.

Once you get the hang of it you can begin asking questions, phrased in a way that the answer will be either yes or no. For example: Question: Is today Monday? Is today Friday? etc. Be specific with any question you ask or the rods will not answer. For instance, instead of asking "Will I be rich?" ask "Will I make at least $100,000 in the year 2000?" Or, ask, "Will I buy a new car within the next 12 months?" If the answer is YES, you can begin to narrow it down by asking, "Will I buy a new car within the next 6 months, 3 months, 1 month?", etc.

It is best to start with questions that you really don't care one way or the other about the answer. The more detached you are about the questions you ask, the more accurate your reading will be. When asking very important or emotional questions, it's a good idea to start by asking a series of unimportant questions, as a way of warming up and enabling you to stay in a more neutral state when you get to the more important questions.

It's also possible that the rods will open for a yes, and cross for a no. If that happens, that is fine, and is the right way for you to use them. Everybody is different, so always start by asking "Which way is yes?”, etc. If all else fails, hand them to a child and ask them to try them. Children tend to be very open to dowsing energies. Remember that being too willful can corrupt the accuracy of your reading.

For enhanced accuracy and protection when doing any kind of divination work, I highly recommend that you prepare a sacred space to work within. This can be accomplished in any number of ways, including, but not limited to, saying prayers of protection, calling on the higher power through meditation, etc. You'll find that just a few minutes spent in such a manner will bring about a greater sense of well-being, and a make the divination easier to do while allowing greater amounts of information to flow to you quickly.

And as with all things, when using these amazing tools always remember the two magic words, "please" and "thank you". When your heart is in the right place, and you ask humbly, and express sincere gratitude, you will find the answers you seek.

How To Make A Dowsing Pendulum By Shen Gerald

A pendulum is a very useful communication tool for spiritual inquiring. When used in conjunction with a chart, it can be used for dowsing and divination. It can be used for the following:

1. Provide Yes/No responses and answers to queries. This is similar to muscle testing or applied kinesiology.

2. Provide more accurate answers to queries, such as degree, intensity or percentage.

There are commercial pendulums available on the market. Usually they can be bought from shops dealing with metaphysical or new age stuffs. However these shops are quite scarce and can be quite hard to find. Alternatively, pendulums can be ordered online through websites selling them.

This article is about making a do-it-yourself (D-I-Y) pendulum for dowsing. If you want to save some money or commercial pendulums are not available for you, you can opt to make one yourself.

Actually, to make a pendulum is not that difficult. We can always find substitutes for the various parts of a commercially-manufactured pendulum. The parts that need to be substituted are:

1. The bob which is the weight at the lower end of a pendulum.

2. The chain which connects the hand to the pendulum bob.

For the pendulum bob, we can use any reasonably weighted object. I personally, use arrow shaped pendants. In fact, the smaller-sized fishing weights can also be used. Although, I much prefer some pendants over fishing weights as they are more visually attractive than the latter. Pendants can be bought from fashion accessory stores. As for fishing weights, they can be found in large departmental stores as well as shops selling fishing equipments.

For the chain, they can be acquired from fashion accessory shops that sell necklaces and chains. Metal ones are preferred. The length of the chain should not be more than a foot. In my opinion, 1/2 to 3/4 of a foot is quite ideal.

Once we have the parts, all we need is to assemble them. At the tip of the pendant or fishing weight is usually a loop or ring. We need to hook one end of the chain through the ring (or loop) at the tip of the pendulum bob (which is either a pendant or fishing weight).

Normally, most chains are made up of many little metallic rings. To assemble the pendulum, we may need to pry open one of the metallic rings (at one end of the chain) and insert the loop/ring of the pendulum bob through it. After that, we will need to re-adjust the metallic ring (on the chain) back to its original closed-looped position. A long-nose plier is most suitable for doing these fine handiworks.

That’s all to making a pendulum for dowsing. Quite simple, isn’t it!

I hope this article is useful. Happy pendulum making.

Pendulum Dowsing: Easy To Learn Techniques By Sherry Sims

Pendulum Dowsing is a very fun and simple way to begin to measure energy fields. Since we all live in a world that is comprised of energy, and since we all have energy in and around our physical bodies, the ability to recognize and measure energy can be valuable and useful.

In order to begin to learn the art of Pendulum Dowsing you will need a Pendulum. You can purchase a beautiful Pendulum at a metaphysical store or you can make one yourself. Actually, a pendant on a necklace chain makes a fine Pendulum. It's a good idea to make sure that the pendant has a little weight to it. If it is too light you will not be able to experience the energy readings as easily.

Simply hold your Pendulum with one hand and allow it to dangle straight. By doing some deep breathing for a minute or so you will prepare yourself to begin your Pendulum reading.

You may find that your Pendulum may actually already be moving by itself. Begin by asking silently "which way means yes?" Your Pendulum may begin to rotate or begin to move back and forth or from side to side. Observe what direction your Pendulum moves in when asked "which way means yes?"

Next, mentally say "thank you" and allow the Pendulum to come to a rest. Now, silently ask "which way means no?" Observe what pattern of movement your Pendulum makes when asked "which way means no?" Again mentally say "thank you" and allow your Pendulum to come to a rest.

It is best to remain open-minded and relaxed when attempting Pendulum dowsing.

Now, begin to ask the series of questions listed below, each time after receiving the answer, mentally say "thank you" and allow your Pendulum to return to a neutral state before proceeding to the next question.

Exercises:

1.) Ask the Pendulum the following questions: Is today Monday? Is today Tuesday? Continue to ask the Pendulum about all of the different days of the week. You want to experience what happens and how the Pendulum responds when the answer is "yes" as opposed to when the answer is "no".

Since you already know which day of the week it is, it will be easy for you to observe the accuracy of your Pendulum reading.

2.) If you have a dog or a cat, hold the Pendulum over the head of your pet and observe what your Pendulum does.

3.) Hold your Pendulum over a healthy green plant and observe what occurs.

4.) Hold your Pendulum over a dead plant and observe what happens.

5.) Hold your Pendulum over a healthy food, like fresh fruit, for example, and ask "Is this food beneficial to my health?", and observe what happens.

6.) Hold the Pendulum over a non-healthy food and ask the same question.

Experiment with your Pendulum. Remember that it is vital that you phrase your questions so that the answer will be either yes or no.
